The Beginning

From a single dropper.

Éclat began in 2021 in a small Lagos studio with a single dropper of fermented vitamin C and a refusal to compromise. Founder Adaeze Okafor — trained as a cosmetic chemist in Paris — had spent a decade watching the industry chase trends over truth. She wanted to build the opposite.

Today the house composes every formula in-house, sources botanicals directly from cooperatives in West Africa and Provence, and tests each batch in independent dermatology trials before a single bottle ships.

Our Lagos atelier is part laboratory, part apothecary. Stainless vessels sit beside apothecary shelves of dried botanicals. Every batch is hand-stirred, hand-decanted, hand-sealed — and signed by the chemist who composed it.
